Description
The Enterprise Engineering – Client Engineering team is searching for system dev engineers with experience in building highly scalable distributed systems. We leverage AWS technologies to operate on a global scale and deliver low-latency, highly-available services to enterprise customers. The Enterprise Engineering organization is tackling new challenges: We are reimagining building secure and highly restrictive environments at high scale using AWS Technologies. We focus on improving security visibility, enforcing compliance, and reducing operational costs via AWS-hosted services. We're looking for an engineer who's self-driven, able to deal with ambiguity, passionate about giving customers the best possible experience, has strong infrastructure and network fundamentals, and is excited about innovating on highly scalable distributed systems problems in a fast-moving, agile environment.
To succeed in this role, you should be incredibly customer-focused, have a strong command of at least one programming language, must enjoy collaborating with teams across the company, and take pleasure in delighting customers with high-quality development of products and solutions for improving security, availability, and operational excellence of cross-platform services at global scale. You should be excited to build on top of AWS services and comfortable learning new services and technologies such as DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, CloudWatch, and Python. Interested? Intrigued? Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
