    Step beyond the classroom and apply your technical knowledge in the real world. Verdantas is seeking a driven environmental science/geologist intern for Summer 2026 at our Wilmington, Delaware location.

     

    We’re looking for a talented and inquisitive intern who’s eager to apply their skills in a real-world setting and learn from experienced professionals. This internship offers hands-on exposure to real-world environmental consulting projects that make a tangible impact, along with mentorship from a collaborative team that values innovation and curiosity. You’ll gain practical experience in problem-solving, design, and development, while building a strong foundation for your future career in the natural science field.

    What You’ll Do:

    + Assisting with fieldwork (e.g., sampling of various media, site inspections, and in a support role for field engineers/geologists/scientists)

    + Researching, collecting, and entering data, and applying technical principles to assist in interpreting and analyzing data

    + Assisting in preparing environmental investigative project designs, plans, and conceptual models

    + Performing preliminary human health and ecological risk calculations and modeling

    + Assisting with environmental assessments

    + Preparing technical reports

    + The position may include travel

    What You’ll Bring:

    + Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or Geology

    + Relevant courses related to principles of environmental science, geology, or similar

    + Proficient in MS Office products

    + Ability to work independently and in a team environment

    + Able to conduct some fieldwork with occasional heavy lifting

    + Must be able to write effectively and articulate outcomes to clients and team members

    + Must have a valid driver’s license

    + Internship or coop experience

    + Experience in ArcGIS and AutoCAD preferred

    + 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred

    + Affiliation and/or certifications with professional associations and networking capabilities

    Salary Range:

    20.00 - 23.00
