Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to support a dynamic site focusing on commercial products, product enhancements, and new product development. This role involves working with components, devices, systems, software, and test systems.
Responsibilities
+ Support the site as an electrical engineer for components, devices, systems, software, and test systems for commercial products, product enhancements, and new product development.
+ Perform electrical design activities, including component selection, circuit design/simulation, prototype evaluation, unit-level testing, lifecycle testing, system integration testing, drawing/document creation and modification, and execution of Engineering Change Orders within SAP for hardware, firmware, and embedded software components.
+ Continuously improve quality by addressing manufacturing and field non-conformities through troubleshooting and root cause analysis with the use of electrical test equipment and custom test sets.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
+ 5+ years of relevant experience in the design and manufacturing of custom electrical assemblies.
+ Minimum of 7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
+ Test engineering, test development, and practical hands-on work.
+ Strong electrical design skills with schematic and engineering analysis capabilities.
+ Understanding of electronic assembly fabrication and manufacturing processes.
+ Experience collaborating with contract manufacturing suppliers for new product introduction (NPI).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Medical device experience is a plus but not mandatory.
+ Experience in pharmaceutical or medical device industries is beneficial.
Work Environment
The role is located in Texas at a site that supports both R&D and manufacturing. The work schedule is from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. On-site work is required, with potential flexibility during transition and training periods. The role is hands-on, and remote work is not standard.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $85.00/hr.
