Lab Technician

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Lab Technician, where you will play a crucial role in supporting the crude oil department by conducting routine tests on crude oil, base oils, lube oils, and petrochemicals! Your responsibilities will include accurately inputting data into the lab LIMS system, following safety protocols, and maintaining lab inventory.

Responsibilities

+ Run routine tests on crude oil, base oils, lube oils, and petrochemicals.

+ Accurately input data into the lab LIMS system.

+ Follow safety protocols for proper lab SOPs.

+ Maintain the inventory of the lab.

Essential Skills

+ Academic or industry experience in lab, quality control, and chemistry.

+ Proficiency in laboratory and wet chemistry techniques.

+ A.S. or B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or related field.

+ Completion of an in-person lab course, ideally in chemistry.

+ Skills in titration, distillations, crude oil, and petrochemicals.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ A.S. or B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or related field.

+ Comfortable with shift work and standing for extended periods.

Work Environment

The lab is currently undergoing an exciting expansion, doubling in size, and leading to team growth. The position involves shift work with a schedule of 4 days on and 4 days off. Shifts alternate between 6am to 6pm for two weeks and 6pm to 6am for the following two weeks. Candidates should be comfortable working in an oil and gas lab environment and able to commit to the physical demands of the role.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
