    Lactation Consultant

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Lactation Consultant to provide breastfeeding and breast milk pumping guidance and education to participants involved in lactation clinical trials within Clinical Pharmacology.

    Responsibilities

    + Provide lactation support and education to study participants in accordance with research protocols.

    + Assist with recruitment, screening, and enrollment of participants for lactation-related studies.

    + Collect and document clinical data, including breast milk samples and participant-reported outcomes.

    + Maintain accurate and timely documentation in source documents.

    + Collaborate with investigators, research coordinators, and clinical teams to ensure protocol adherence.

    + Participate in the development and refinement of study protocols and educational materials.

    + Ensure compliance with FDA, GCP, and ICH regulations.

    + Maintain a safe working environment and ensure safe practices are followed.

    + Serve as an educational resource and instructor/trainer for staff.

    Essential Skills

    + Certified as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

    + Current licensure as required.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, or a related field; RN or advanced degree preferred.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience in providing lactation support and education.

    + Familiarity with clinical data collection and documentation.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is a Phase I Healthy Volunteers Clinic located in Madison, WI. The Lactation Consultant will initially come onsite for training on the research protocol and unit. Subsequently, the consultant will visit the site for 1-2 hours during each group check-in, address any pumping concerns, and be available for any issues that arise during or after the study. Scheduled check-in dates include specific afternoons in January, February, March, and April 2026.

    This is a Contract position based out of Madison, WI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
