Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The NCCU Department of Athletics’ primary purpose is to provide leadership for an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics program. The NCCU Department of Athletics places the highest priority on a quality academic and athletic experience as part of the overall education of student-athletes. The Department of Athletics seeks to strengthen the integration of the athletics program objectives with academic development objectives.
Primary Purpose of Position
The Deputy Athletic Director/Senior Women’s Administrator – provides comprehensive leadership and oversight for key administrative functions within the athletic department, ensuring compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA regulations. This role is crucial in fostering a collaborative and respectful environment for student-athletes and staff, managing financial resources, and developing impactful programs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Collegiate administrative or coaching experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise staff, including interns and graduate assistants. Proven experience in developing and implementing successful programs. Thorough understanding of NCAA rules and regulations, Title IX, EEO, and student conduct policies. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Minimum Education/Experience
Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sports Administration, Higher Education Administration, Business Administration). Experience in athletic administration, with a strong background in compliance, financial management, or student-athlete welfare.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
**Function** Compliance Management
Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
Oversee and monitor athletics department compliance with Title IX. The Title IX coordinator is the responsible employee of the recipient with major responsibility for Title IX compliance efforts. The Title IX coordinator’s responsibilities are critical to the development, implementation, and monitoring of meaningful efforts to comply with Title IX. Oversee and coordinate all gender, diversity and inclusion efforts of the athletics program. Serve as the EEO/Student Rights and conduct liaison.
**Function** Leadership
Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
Responsible for the management of the institution’s intercollegiate athletics program. Act as a key decision-maker and participate on the senior management team. Support Title IX initiatives. Advocate for issues important to student-athletes, coaches, and staff. Serve as a role model and resource for student-athletes, coaches, and administrators. Be involved with the administration and governance of intercollegiate athletics. Participate in conference and national governance and committee opportunities.
**Function** Program Management

Manage and supervise interns and graduate assistants within the athletic department. Serve as primary administrator to assigned sport(s). Develop and implement a women’s leadership program to empower and support female student-athletes and staff.
**Function** Coordination - Operations
Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
Works closely with the Director of Athletics on oversight of the day-to-day operations of the department. Provide administrative support to the Director of Athletics and other senior staff as needed. Serve on a variety of campus committees, representing athletic interests.
**Function** Financial Management
Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
Assist in managing NCAA funds, including tracking spending and preparing reports (SOAF, Academic Enhancement Accounts). Oversee and prepare GSR (Graduation Success Rate) and APR (Academic Progress Rate) reports. Collaborate with Campus Enterprises on budget management and financial audits. Responsible for the preparation and submission of the EADA (Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act) report.
