Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Montebello, California. This Contract position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in payroll processing and database management within a non-profit environment. The role requires someone who is attentive to detail and capable of handling sensitive financial information while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Process payroll efficiently and accurately, ensuring all salary and wage data is up to date.

• Maintain and update payroll databases, including employee information and pay records.

• Record hours worked, compile payroll statistics, and calculate wages in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations.

• Prepare and support accounting journal entries related to payroll operations.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.

• Safeguard sensitive and confidential employee information in all payroll operations.

• Work closely with other departments to enhance payroll service performance.

• Utilize payroll software such as ADP Workforce Now and Paychex to manage payroll for over 500 employees.

• Ensure accuracy and efficiency in multi-state payroll processing. Requirements • Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing, including multi-state payroll.

• Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now and Paychex.

• Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and local payroll laws and regulations.

• Ability to handle payroll for large organizations with over 500 employees.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

• Effective communication skills, including fluency in Spanish.

• Experience in a similar role within the non-profit sector is preferred.
