Job Title: Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced mechanic to join our team and perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on ready-mix trucks. The ideal candidate will have expertise in air brake systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, emission systems, and engine diagnostics. This role requires a commitment to safety standards and company policies while maintaining accurate service records.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on ready-mix trucks.

+ Focus on air brake systems, including inspection, adjustment, and replacement of components.

+ Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, and cylinders.

+ Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and control systems.

+ Maintain compliance with EPA standards and perform DEF system diagnostics for emission systems.

+ Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve engine performance issues.

+ Perform preventive maintenance services according to manufacturer and company schedules.

+ Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all repairs and inspections.

+ Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform field repairs as needed.

+ Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and company policies.

Essential Skills

+ Expertise in diesel engines and troubleshooting.

+ Proficiency in hydraulics, electrical systems, and brake systems.

+ Experience with emission diagnostics and engine rebuilds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Ability to fabricate brackets, mounts, and perform minor structural repairs using welding and fabrication skills.

+ Experience with in-frame and out-of-frame engine overhauls.

+ Proficiency in servicing and repairing propane, electric, and diesel-powered forklifts.

+ Experience in maintaining tools, lifts, and other shop machinery.

Work Environment

Work in an outdoor shop environment as part of a team of five professionals. This role offers a collaborative atmosphere with access to necessary tools and equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
