    Quality Inspector - 1st Shift - $23/hr

    Job Description

    As a Quality Inspector, you will play a crucial role in providing support for functional verification and validation of incoming materials and completed products. This hands-on position is set in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, where you will interpret drawings, measure using calipers and micrometers, and conduct inspections primarily on sheet metal and cable components.

    Responsibilities

    + Interpret and review drawings and assemblies.

    + Conduct dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.

    + Perform receiving inspection of materials from suppliers, focusing on sheet metal parts and electrical components.

    + Utilize microscopes, digital calipers, micrometers, and vision measurement systems with optimal accuracy.

    + Provide in-process and final inspection and testing as required.

    + Maintain proper inspection and test records.

    + Advise production personnel on the acceptability of products or materials based on inspection results.

    + Provide solutions to technical problems and assist on special projects.

    + Assist with ISO 9001-2015 audits and document non-conformances.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years of professional experience as a Quality Assurance/Control representative.

    + Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, volt meters, and measuring tools.

    + Ability to work on a computer and access drawings digitally.

    + Experience with quality inspection and control processes.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High attention to detail.

    + Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.

    + Familiarity with paperwork processes.

    + Knowledge of ISO 9001-2015 standards.

    + Knowledge of IPC-620 workmanship.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

    + Strong communication skills.

    Work Environment

     

    Work within a small company where everyone knows each other, including daily interactions with the president and engineers. The schedule is Monday to Thursday from 7:15 AM to 4:45 PM, with alternating Fridays off, and work hours from 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM on working Fridays. Opportunities for overtime may also be available.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
