    Job Description

    Our company specializes in the printing industry and is a top provider for companies such as Trader Joe's, Aldi's, Stop n Shop, and Big Y. We are currently hiring a press operator trainee to join our team. This opportunity offers one-on-one training on a variety of machinery, including a laminator machine, brake press machine, and eventually a slitter machine. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting, using a ruler and stopwatch, and collaborating with machine operators to learn how to operate each machine independently. The role will start with gathering the correct materials, loading and unloading machinery, and using a computer to enter production data.

    Responsibilities

    + Gather correct materials for machine operation.

    + Load and unload machinery efficiently.

    + Use a computer to enter production data accurately.

    + Learn to operate various machines including laminator, brake press, and slitter machines.

    + Collaborate with machine operators for training and operational excellence.

    Essential Skills

    + Production experience

    + Mechanical aptitude

    + Machine operation skills

    + Familiarity with hand tools

    + Experience with micrometers and calipers

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience using hand and power tools

    + Experience in the paper or printing industry

    + Previous machine operating experience

    + Enthusiasm to learn new skills

    Work Environment

     

    In this printing industry role, you should be comfortable with getting dirty, as you will work with ink daily. The environment is relaxed, with a small team of about 6 production employees. The work is fast-paced, requiring efficiency and attention to detail.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Springfield, MA.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
