Job Description

As a Digital Department worker, you will be responsible for setting up and overseeing the operation of a digital press machine. This position requires minimal manual labor compared to traditional printing presses. You will receive training on how to load the roll of paper into the machine, a task that involves no lifting but rather rolling into place. Your duties include entering orders into the computer system, monitoring the process, and counting and stacking products at the machine's output. The role involves light lifting of up to 20 lbs regularly. You must be able to count to ten and operate a computer for basic tasks such as opening PDF files or emails. Most of your time will be spent standing and observing the machine's operation. Tecnau machines are used, and a technician is onsite to address any technical issues promptly.

Responsibilities

+ Set up and monitor the digital press machine to ensure proper operation.

+ Load paper rolls without lifting, by rolling them into place.

+ Enter orders into the computer system and oversee the production process.

+ Count and stack products at the end of the machine.

+ Perform light lifting of up to 20 lbs regularly.

+ Stand and watch the machine for the majority of the shift.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in basic computer operations, such as opening PDF files and emails.

+ Ability to count to ten accurately.

+ Experience in production or machine operation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ At least one year of consistent work experience with a single company.

+ Positive references regarding attendance from previous employers.

+ Printing experience in press, digital, or flexographic formats is advantageous.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large, climate-controlled production facility where the temperature and humidity are managed to prevent paper curling or warping. The environment is loud, well-lit, and meticulously clean, accommodating client tours. Employees work the 2nd shift from 3pm to 11pm. The dress code requires close-toed shoes, and long hair and loose clothing must be secured to prevent safety hazards. Profanity on clothing is prohibited due to client tours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hartland, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
