Job Title: CNC Mill Operator - 3rd Shift

Job Description

Join our team as a CNC Mill Operator responsible for manufacturing quality products in CNC machining centers. This full-time position involves changing materials and tools as required, inspecting products using appropriate tools, and accurately completing necessary paperwork to track product cost and movement. This nonexempt, hourly position is on the 3rd shift from Monday to Friday (12 am-7 am), allowing a 40-hour workweek.

Responsibilities

+ Read and accurately interpret internal and customer-provided engineering drawings and setup documents.

+ Efficiently use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.

+ Make adjustments to setups and processes to enhance product quality and process efficiency.

+ Determine cutting tool needs and replace them as needed without product loss or damage.

+ Utilize grinding and cutting tools such as air grinders, drill press, manual mill, grinders, saws, and burr tools.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work environment using 5-S techniques or good housekeeping skills.

+ Determine when to stop producing products due to quality or safety issues.

+ Maintain 'shop loss' procedures by proper documentation according to company procedures.

+ Accurately clock in/out of time and shop orders using the company MRP system.

+ Use adequate lifting equipment or methods to prevent personal injury.

+ Maintain awareness of all safety-related MSDS information.

+ Follow company procedures for extinguishing flammable materials.

+ Maintain knowledge of proper machinery use while dealing with excessive weight.

+ Participate in all safety trainings/meetings.

+ Lift up to 50 lbs.

+ Collaborate effectively with others.

+ Perform any other duty as requested by the supervisor or manager.

Essential Skills

+ 3 to 5 years of CNC machining experience in a commercial or aerospace-related manufacturing facility.

+ Proficiency in basic computer skills.

+ Knowledge of G and M codes and their functions.

+ Experience with 3, 4, and 5 axis machining.

+ Familiarity with Mazak machines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, and Mazatrol controls.

+ Proficiency in performing setups and runs on machines.

+ Strong understanding of blueprint reading and interpretation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
