Job Description

We are seeking a skilled welder specializing in Flux Core Welding on mild steel to construct barges. The role involves MIG and TIG welding, reading blueprints, and collaborating effectively within a team under supervision.

Responsibilities

+ Perform Flux Core, MIG, and TIG welding on mild steel to construct barges.

+ Read and interpret blueprints for welding projects.

+ Collaborate effectively with team members and work under the guidance of a supervisor.

+ Ensure adherence to safety standards and protocols during welding operations.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in Flux Core, MIG, and TIG welding techniques.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

+ Previous welding experience of 3-6 months is required.

+ Familiarity with welding tools and equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with stainless steel, stick welding, and carbon steel.

+ Knowledge of fitting and tack welding.

+ Capability to work with structural steel.

Work Environment

Work in an outdoor environment that can be very hot. Adhere to a dress code requiring steel-toed ankle-high leather boots, long sleeves, and pants. Note the prohibition of contact lenses due to welding smoke. Choose between first shift (Monday to Friday, 6 am to 3:30 pm) or second shift (Monday to Friday, 3:15 pm to 12:45 am).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ashland City, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.30 - $21.30/hr.
