Planer Supervisor, Baxley, GA

When you join our team as a **Planer Supervisor** , you will be responsible for the safe

processing and packaging of dry lumber on site. The

successful candidate will be an engaging safety leader that thrives on managing a

highly motivated team in a technical and fast paced manufacturing environment.

This role will be on the night shift with weekend shift requirements as needed.

What You’ll Do

+ Set and communicate direction, whileengaging and supporting team members to achieve excellence in all areas.

+ Manage safety of employees through leadingby example, operate at the highest standards and conform to allregulations.

+ Ensure the wide range of products meet all quality standards and order specifications throughout the manufacturing process.

+ Oversee planer production, manning,and efficiency.

+ Manage and identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce cost, and maximize the quality, value, and recovery of lumber produced.

+ Supervise shift production andmaintenance activities to ensure compliance with all site protocols(safety, housekeeping, hot work, environmental, etc.).

+ Manage budgeting (cost containment/inventory control /scheduling).

+ Manage and direct month endinventory process.

What You Offer

+ Post-secondary education is preferred.

+ Minimum 5 years of experience in lumber manufacturing or a heavy industrial environment.

+ Minimum 2 years of lumber manufacturing supervisory experience, preferably in a planer role.

+ Lumber grading certification is an asset.

+ Strong organizational and leadership skills.

+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment.

+ Detail and results oriented.

+ Ability to work all shifts.

+ Strong computer skills utilizing Windows based programs and Microsoft Office.
