Job Description
The Human Resources Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Human Resources department by assisting with various administrative tasks related to benefits, payroll, training and development, recruitment, and other HR initiatives. This position requires onsite presence Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with the expectation to start at 6:50 am on orientation days, which occur on the first and third Monday of every month. The role offers a contract opportunity with the potential to transition to permanent employment.
Responsibilities
+ Respond to internal and external Human Resource inquiries or requests and provide assistance.
+ Redirect Human Resource-related calls or distribute correspondence to the appropriate team member.
+ Maintain records of personnel-related data, such as personal information, leaves, and turnover rates, both in paper format and in the database, ensuring all employment requirements are met.
+ Liaise with other departments or functions, including payroll and benefits.
+ Support the recruitment/hiring process by leading the pre-employment process, sourcing candidates, performing bckground checks, assisting in shortlisting, and issuing employment contracts.
+ Ensure all pre-employment paperwork and applicable licensure and certifications are obtained in a timely fashion and in compliance with regulatory agencies.
+ Assist with new-hire procedures, including organizing employee orientation, creating new employee files, administering employee handbooks, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is properly filled out and submitted.
+ Participate in new hire orientations.

+ Adhere to absolutes of privacy, confidentiality, professional appearance, responsibility, and commitment.
Essential Skills
+ Outgoing personality, especially for facilitating orientations twice a month.
+ Strong administration and technical skills.
+ Preferred experience in HR, onboarding, and orientation.
+ Associate’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent college-level coursework and applied experience.
+ 2 years experience in a Human Resources department setting.
+ Excellent computer skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
+ Advanced organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree preferred.
+ Experience in a healthcare setting in a union environment is preferred.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Middletown, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $27.00/hr.
