Job Description
At Gilead, the Digital Strategy and Operations team is an integral part of the company's digital transformation footprint, serving as a strategic partner to our brands and prioritizing top-notch digital experiences for US customers.
We are seeking an **Associate Director of Digital Marketing Operations** reporting directly to the Director of Digital Marketing Operations. This individual will drive operational excellence in Digital initiatives, maintaining comprehensive accountability for digital execution. The successful candidate will manage the efficient and effective delivery of digital programs in line with global standards and best practices, collaborating closely with digital marketing capability leads and Brand leads to meet shared goals.
The **Associate Director of Digital Marketing Operations** holds a pivotal position within the Digital Strategy & Operations (DSO) team, overseeing the effective implementation of digital initiatives while promoting a culture of innovation and agility for the HIV Prevention Business Unit.
This role is accountable for converting business objectives into impactful, compliant, and efficient digital marketing campaigns, experiences, and solutions that drive engagement among healthcare professionals and patients. The individual will be responsible for the seamless execution of campaigns, digital projects, and solutions across diverse channels and capabilities, including marketing automation, websites, paid media, and analytics.
As an individual contributor, the ideal candidate demonstrates a strategic, data-driven approach with an omnichannel mindset. This professional will utilize insights to further build out a digital roadmap of learning and optimization across capabilities.
Relocation assistance is not available for this role; we are seeking candidates who are currently local to the area.
Key Responsibilities
+ Act as a strategic digital operations partner to HIV Prevention brand leads, collaborating with marketing teams and agency partners to translate business requirements into effective multi-channel digital campaigns, digital experiences and solutions (SFMC, Web, Paid Media, Analytics, Content Production).
+ Oversee end-to-end campaign or project delivery—from requirements gathering to execution—ensuring projects are on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
+ Monitor campaign performance, analyze results, and provide actionable insights to optimize ROI.
+ Work with digital project managers to maintain detailed project plans, track milestones, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
+ Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and global digital standards across all initiatives.
+ Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies in partnership with the Digital Marketing Operations team.
+ Drive digital innovation by promoting emerging technologies, capabilities and fostering agility within the organization.
+ Build strong relationships with Marketing, Operations, Technology and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and collaboration.
+ Serve as a subject matter expert on digital marketing operations best practices, processes, and systems, ensuring continuous improvement.
+ Stay current on digital marketing trends and identify opportunities to enhance capabilities.
+ Collaborate with Digital Strategy and Customer Experience teams on SOP development, rollout, and training.
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree and Ten Years' Experience
+ OR
+ Masters' Degree and Eight Years' Experience
+ OR
+ Ph.D. and Two Years' Experience
Preferred Qualifications
+ Proven experience in digital marketing with a strong understanding of digital channels and technologies (Marketing Automation (Salesforce Marketing Cloud), Web, Paide Media, Social SEO/SEM).
+ A track record of success in client-facing roles, with the ability to build trust and foster long-term partnerships.
+ Exceptional presentation skills, including the ability to craft compelling narratives and deliver them with clarity and impact.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
+ Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
+ Strong project management expertise, including risk and client management within the U.S. market; PMP certification preferred.
+ Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or related field; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
+ Experience in highly regulated industries (pharmaceuticals or healthcare) with thorough knowledge of FDA guidelines and U.S. data privacy regulations.
+ Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and managing stakeholders at all organizational levels.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
+ Proven success in collaborating with cross-functional teams and building strong stakeholder relationships.
+ Experience driving digital transformation and managing change initiatives effectively.
+ Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
+ Proactive, results-driven mindset with a track record of identifying opportunities and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

The salary range for this position is: $182,070.00 - $235,620.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
