The Program Manager supports Goodwill Southeast Georgia’s mission by leading staff and program participants on AbilityOne contracts. This working manager role is responsible for staffing, training, and supervising personnel, ensuring compliance with safety and reporting requirements, and preparing program participants for competitive employment. The Program Manager also serves as liaison between contract employees and Goodwill to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Your Typical Day
+ Staff new and existing contracts. Work with internal placement staff and other referral entities to identify, place staff, and program participants.
+ Interview, select, recommend, hire, train and supervise assigned staff. Assign and check work. Provide directions to staff and assist in the investigation and resolution of problems. Evaluate performance, provide counseling, mentoring, and coaching to staff and program participants. Initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, terminations, or disciplinary measures. Maintain harmonious employee/employer relations. Determine current and future staffing levels. Develop and implement staffing plans for related budgets.
+ Facilitate the hiring process. Distribute Human Resource documents and forms, arrange health screenings, and manage the hiring process for new program participant employees. Coordinate process with HR representative and Vice President of Business Services. Respond to needs of participant employees. Refer as necessary for Health and Welfare benefits and administration.
+ Facilitate on-site training of supervisory staff and participant employees. Act as liaison between the contract employer and Goodwill.
+ Serve as back-up to staff to fulfill contract scope of work.
+ Review timecards and schedule staffing for contracts. Approve payroll transactions. Prepare monthly reports for billing.
+ Responsible for creating a safe work environment for all associates through a variety of means, including, but not limited to, identifying and addressing potential risks, working with safety officers, and addressing root causes of prior incidents and/or “near misses”.
+ Maintains the department’s commitment to safety by assuming responsibility for OSHA-related compliance, proper storage & maintenance of hazardous materials, and CIMS safety-related initiatives.
+ Monitor safety compliance at job sites of contract employers.
+ Assist in the preparation, monitoring and formatting of the budget and strategic planning for new and existing contracts.
+ Prepare backup and documentation reports for all contracts. Perform data management and record keeping duties for all contracts through completion. Track spread sheets to submit for review and monthly invoicing.
+ Compile requirements for supplies, materials and equipment requested by contract supervisors and convert to computerized purchase requisitions with proper general ledger coding, quantities, description and vendor information for review and authorization.
+ Perform any range of assignments or special projects as requested.
+ Demonstrate by words and actions a commitment to the Goodwill mission and core values to help people with disabilities and other barriers to become self-sufficient, working members of the community.
+ Perform or assist with any duties or operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements.
+ Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules, keeping all working areas in clean and orderly condition.
\What You’ll Need
+ Experience and education equivalent to bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Sociology or Social Science preferred.
+ Minimum three (3) years in rehabilitation, service contracts, non-profit environment or related experience.
+ CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
+ Must possess excellent computer skills, including the complete Microsoft Office package.
+ Computer and peripherals, word processing, spreadsheets and software programs, and standard office and safety equipment.
+ Ability to communicate clearly in English and understand verbal/written instructions. Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communications.
+ Ability to deal with a wide variety of people in a positive manner.
+ Ability to give attention to details, meet schedules and complete work assignments successfully.
+ Must have a current valid driver’s license, valid insurance, reliable transportation for travel to outlying locations and the ability to be insured under the company’s vehicle insurance policy.
+ Must be able to meet all required government security clearances.
+ Overtime and weekend schedules may be required
+ Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
