The roles of the position will perform the following duties but are not limited to providing supervision to Staffing, Compensation, and Employee Administration.

Minimum Qualifications
Six years of human resources experience; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of human resources experience; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus three years of human resources experience; OR
An advanced degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, industrial and organizational psychology, organizational behavior, or a Juris Doctorate plus two years of human resources experience.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
Designation as a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Exercises direct supervision over Human Resources specialist and or analyst.
+ Interacts with Appointing Authorities, managers, and supervisors to provide guidance.
+ Trains staff, evaluates performance and conducts staff meetings.
+ Develops methods to enhance employee morale and growth to endure high standards of work performance.
+ Interprets Civil Service rules and Department policy.
+ Counsels with managers/supervisors regarding HR matters.
+ Provides training for DCFS statewide on HR processes and procedures.
+ May conduct very complex or sensitive investigations.
Position-Specific Details:
+ Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment
+ Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
+ Compensation: This position is eligible for premium pay up to $2.00 per hour.
