A Day in the Life
The Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineer is the subject matter expert (SME) responsible for providing technical leadership and direction for identity and access management technologies under the Information Security domain.
You will design, build, and deploy systems which govern identities and access. The IAM Engineer will provide expertise in the review and design of existing and new IAM technologies and system integrations to ensure that the appropriate controls and tools are selected and operationalized. In addition, you will ensure that applications that integrate into Medtronic Diabetes’s environment follow the necessary controls and standards established for access control for applications.
You will also be responsible for assisting in the development, documentation and implementation of security policies, with a focus on identity and access management technologies. As a member of the Information Security team, you will also be involved in incident response, security assessments, risk mitigation programs, vulnerability scanning, identity and access management and integrating systems across the enterprise.
This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
+ Responsible for the delivery, support and integration of identity and access management integrations across the enterprise to include Single Sign On (SSO) technologies, Directory Synchronization, Privileged Access Management (PAM), Public Key Infrastructure, Multi-Factor Authentication, and Federated integrations with both SaaS and on-premise applications
+ Contribute and collaborate to develop and execute a multiyear IAM strategy androadmap for enterprise stakeholders that align with current and future business needs.
+ Work with stakeholders to develop processes and onboard new and existing “groups”into Access Lifecycle Management
+ Review new products for compatibility with Enterprise Authentication Methodologies before introduction to the network
+ Provide Authentication “Expert Guidance” for how Systems and Applications can effectively leverage Enterprise Authentication Capabilities
+ Assist with fixing issues discovered as part of the application UAT phase.
+ Serve as a project resource and provide project leadership on application and infrastructure project efforts representing technical IAM capabilities, assisting with gathering requirements, creating recommendations, and implementing solutions to meet the project requirements.
+ Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
+ Assists in the implementation and maintenance of processes for the administration of security access to new and existing Medtronic Diabetes enterprise systems.
+ Analyzes routine access requests in partnership with stakeholders to ensure that the access is correct and complies with Medtronic Diabetes guidance and industry best practices.
+ Provides routine troubleshooting and incident support for IAM related issues.
+ Interacts with other Medtronic Diabetes teams and individuals to execute, advise, plan, build, test, and launch improvements of IAM operational maturity, services, and solutions.
+ Partners well with other IAM, security and IT functions to ensure achieve shared objectives.
+ Works closely with program and project managers on the initiation and execution of IAM efforts; leads IAM initiatives as required.
+ Work with stakeholders to gather requirements needed for system and application integration with all Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms.
+ Deliver process improvements utilizing Identity and Access Management platforms.
+ Serve as an escalation of IAM services and related incidents
+ Design and implement Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) platform
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Requires a Bachelors degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
+ 7+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) or related area.
+ 7+ years of experience in Information Technology or Information Security
+ Experience managing competing priorities and simultaneous/concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
+ Experience with configuration, maintenance, and administration of IAM software and tools to include the following: Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Entra ID, Okta, and SailPoint
+ Experience with and/or familiarity with multifactor authentication solutions, credential management systems (CMS), public key infrastructure (PKI), MS Windows Hello for Business, Azure MFA, Azure SSO (SAML), and CyberArk.
+ Familiarity with leading IAM concepts such as Least Privilege, Privileged Access, Roles and Data Mining, Segregation of Duty (SOD), and Role Based Access Control (RBAC).
+ Solid knowledge of common IAM technical principles, theories, concepts, and tools
+ Knowledge of Authentication within a mature Active Directory environment (Kerberos, ADFS, etc.)
+ Working knowledge with Passwordless authentication tools
+ Experience with Privileged Access Management and Privileged Session Management

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$156,000.00 - $234,000.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
