Assistant Professor – Teaching, Department of Management Mike Ilitch School of Business
Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Assistant Professor – Teaching, Department of Management Mike Ilitch School of Business at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):
The Department of Management at Wayne State University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business is seeking to fill a (non-tenured track), Assistant Professor – Teaching position for Fall 2026.
+ Teach 4 (per semester) undergraduate/graduate levels, along with the option to teach summer courses. Course teaching load reductions may be available based on publication record. Many of our faculty publish in top-tier journals such asAcademy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science,and Organizational Research Methods.
+ Manage assessment and Student progress with a Learning Management System (Canvas).
+ Maintain and adapt curriculum that is current, effective, and appropriate to course and program competencies. Instruct students in a classroom, online, and/or hybrid setting.
+ Engage in department, school, university and external service.
Qualifications:
Desirable education and experience:
+ A Ph.D. in organizational behavior, human resource management, or a related field from an AACSB-accredited business school. Candidates with a Master’s degree can be considered for the rank of Instructor - Teaching.
+ Teaching and/or professional experience/certification in organizational behavior and/or human resource management.
Ability to build and teach courses in multi-modalities including in-person; online asynchronous; and online synchronous.
