Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D1297000 and is part of the CO CSMS 07, National Guard. The purpose of this position is to provide overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions. Responsibilities Plans overall allocation of personnel and resources for the organization. Ensures accomplishment of work operations which because of their scope, volume, and complexity are planned on a year or longer basis. Explains work requirements to subordinate supervisors, sets deadlines and sequence of operations. Recommends promotion or reassignment of subordinate supervisors and reviews personnel actions prepared by supervisors. Develops, publishes, and ensures employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: O-3 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume. Must have at least 36 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: 1. Experience leading to an extensive knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operation, and working relationships of complex interconnecting systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. 2. Experience diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying interconnected complex systems on a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. 3. Experience working with state of the art electrical, electronic, complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and other major non-mechanical systems that have a functional relationship and effect on the operation of major mechanical systems. 4. Experienced working with hydraulic lifting, loading, turning, and positioning systems and their mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic controls. 5. Experience developing or improvise methods, alter parts, and make repairs in the absence of technical guidelines (such as modifying parts to fit and mesh into systems for which the parts were not designed); improvise modifications to equipment to correct recurring malfunctions; and design modifications to meet special test requirements or other special needs. 6. Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. 7. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. 8. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. . Education Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position. Per ARNG-HRH Policy Memorandum #10-39, mandatory Full Time Staff (FTS) training is required within a year of hire as a condition of employment in vacancy announcements for both Technician and Active Guard Reserve positions. Failure of new FTS personnel to complete NGB prescribed courses at PEC within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment to other full time positions or termination of their employment. 9.
