Job Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide the continuous direction and day-to-day operation of the Respite program(s), provide oversight for all assigned people supported and supervision of all assigned direct support staff members.
Salary : $49,000/yr.-$53,000/yr.

Essential Functions:
+ Maintain the health and well-being of the people EPI supports.
+ Respond to and report all emergencies, incidents and unusual events.
+ Promote workplace safety.
+ Function as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), providing direct care when needed and necessary.
+ Provide support for all respite programs as required; schedule adequate coverage to ensure safety and supervision of individuals being supported at all times.
+ Act as a member of the team for each person supported by participating in semi-annual and annual Life Plan meetings.
+ Interact in a professional manner with parents/guardians and maintain professional conduct with the person and/or their family members.
+ Participate in all referrals, intakes, placements and discharge for the program.
+ Maintain all program participants’ records (intakes, safeguards, Life Plans, Medicaid waiver authorizations, billing documentation) in accordance with OPWDD regulations.
+ Monitor all funders’ required documentation; report all policy violations to appropriate personnel.
+ Review all billing documentation to ensure Agency compliance.
+ Track, gather, and compile data for reports, billing, etc.
+ Implement forms, policies, and procedures for respite programs.
+ Provide ongoing supervision, support, training, coaching and consultation for staff, and build a cohesive team; ensure trainings maintain compliance.
+ Participate in the selection of Direct Support Professionals (DSP) and assist with onboarding, as needed.
+ Oversees multiple sites.
+ Collect, review, verify and approve bi-weekly employee hours worked and mileage inputs for timely, accurate payroll.
+ Have corrective action conversations as needed; consult with Supervisor if DSP performance issues rise to progressive discipline.
+ Serve as on-call for the program.
+ Must attend Leadership trainings, as scheduled and assigned.
Non-Essential Functions:
+ Conduct performance appraisals, annually.
+ Maintain a clean and professional program environment that encourages a person-centered atmosphere.
+ Performs other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Community Services and/or designee within scope of practice.
+ Participate on various EPI committees as able.
Compliance:
+ Must maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion concerning all business-related matters, including but not limited to board/vendors/donors’ names, investigations, finance, operations, and employee relations matters.
+ Must be willing to complete specific company required trainings as mandated by our governing agency, Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), at time of hire and annually thereafter.

Ed ucation and Experience:
+ High school diploma or equivalent, with at least five (5) years’ experience in a Health and Human Services or related field and at least one (1) year of supervisory experience required.
Supervision:
+ Ensure team compliance of annual trainings.
+ Manage direct report(s) time and attendance using HRIS platform.
+ Manages team of at least two (2) Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
+ Collaborates with Human Resources for; recruitment/onboarding, performance management, etc.
Computer Skills:
+ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs to include Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
Qualifications:
+ Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License- a vehicle is required for business travel.
+ Must successfully complete and pass on the job training to transport individuals in company vans and/or vehicles.
+ Solid verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all persons supported and a diverse employee population of various levels within the organization.
+ Demonstrated ability to use poise, tact, maturity and diplomacy, during difficult and/or stressful situations to effectively collaborate and resolve issues.
+ Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, and customer requests, while meeting deadlines.
