    Preference to stroke and regulatory experience

    Responsibilities:

    * Lead and coordinate stroke program initiatives: Includes policy reviews, process improvement, and data tracking. Guide redesign efforts based on evaluation results.

    * Attend in-house stroke codes: Identify and resolve process breakdowns during emergencies.

    * Collaborate with inpatient services and medical staff: Address care delivery issues across ED, ICU, nursing units, and physicians.

    * Educate EMS teams and support staff training: Focus on stroke field assessment priorities and protocol adherence.

    * Implement process changes and maintain documentation: Ensure readiness for site surveys and regulatory compliance.

    * Partner with Stroke Champion and Medical Director: Update annual program goals and process flow documents.

    * Support multidisciplinary quality improvement projects: Design and implement initiatives across departments.

    * Promote continuous improvement culture: Keep patient care central to all initiatives.

    * Lead ongoing evaluation and readiness planning: Ensure accreditation by The Joint Commission and other regulatory bodies.

    * Collaborate with accreditation and regulatory specialists: Review work plans, identify growth opportunities, and meet program goals.

    * Identify and address regulatory vulnerabilities: Escalate significant issues to leadership and lead compliance initiatives.

    * Provide guidance on standards interpretation: Support development and monitoring of regulatory improvement processes.

    + Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business Administration or related field required at time of hire/transfer, Master's degree in Business Administration preferred.

    + 5 years of related experience required Knowledge of information systems and process improvement techniques.

    + Must be able to demonstrate skills to understand and interpret data

    + Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families.

    + Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment.

    + Exemplary critical thinking, analytical and problem solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care. Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and to lead others.

    + Mobility and visual manual dexterity.

    + Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:-UPMC approved national certification preferred.-NIH Stroke Scale and Modified Rankin Score certifications are required within 3 months of hire-Act 34
