    Position: Information Services Manager

     

    Openings: 1

     

    • GW Hospital: 900 23rd NW St, Washington DC 20037

    • Cedar Hill: 1200 Pecan SW St, Washington DC 20032

     

    Duration: Permanent - 20%

     

    Pay Range: $103,000 - 160,000k

     

    Shift: M-F 9 AM - 5 PM, fully onsite

    Interview Process:

    • 1st round: 30 minute virtual Zoom interview with CIO, Senior Director of IT, and Director of Information Security

    • 2nd round: 1 hour onsite with the team

    • 3rd round: 30 minute Zoom interview with UHS (Universal Health Services) Corporate IT Team

     

    Overview: Insight Global is partnering with George Washington University Hospital to hire an Information Services Manager who will lead IT infrastructure and network operations across two UHS hospitals in Washington, DC. This is a hands-on leadership role with no direct reports, ideal for someone currently in an Assistant Manager, Supervisor, or IT Management position within a healthcare institution.

     

    The ideal candidate is super sharp, thrives in fast-paced environments, and can stabilize complex IT ecosystems while collaborating with physicians and clinicians. You will lead projects, manage vendors, and ensure operational excellence across infrastructure, security, and IT operations.

     

    We are looking for someone who is not only technically skilled but also a strong technical journalist, able to clearly document processes, communicate complex technical concepts in simple terms, and produce concise, accurate reports for leadership and stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the operational integrity, performance, and security of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud environments.

    • Lead projects and meetings with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

    • Manage IT operations across service desk, biomedical devices, and enterprise systems (Cerner, Microsoft 365, Cisco telephony, Dell desktops).

    • Drive initiatives in infrastructure, information security, and project management.

    • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and ensure timely resolution.

    • Collaborate with physicians, clinicians, and corporate IT teams to align technology with clinical needs.

    • Document technical workflows, create clear reports, and communicate updates effectively to leadership.

    Skills and Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field (Master’s preferred).

    • Minimum 5 years of progressive IT experience, including supervisory or managerial roles.

    • Healthcare IT experience strongly preferred.

    • Enterprise-level infrastructure management and troubleshooting.

    • Familiarity with VPN, MPLS, IPSEC, cloud platforms, routers, switches, firewalls, TCP/IP, DNS, VoIP, and data centers.

    • Microsoft (e.g., MCSE), Cisco (e.g., CCNP, CCIE).

    • EHR: Cerner

    Skills & Tools:

    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

    • Ability to lead projects and communicate effectively with diverse teams.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and Visio.

    • Hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

    • Professional presence and ability to manage multiple priorities.

    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and reporting.
