About the Organization: Compass Family Services is a 100+ year old nonprofit working on the front lines of San Francisco's homeless crisis. We provide families experiencing or at risk of homelessness with comprehensive support to address immediate needs and ensure long-term success.
About the team: Compass' C-Cares team helps homeless families stabilize and maintain housing through temporary rental subsidies. All families are provided with long-term case management to support housing and economic self-sufficiency.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, primarily during standard business hours
Compensation: $68K - $75K annually

Responsibilities:
The Assistant Program Director is responsible for directly supervising staff, overseeing programs, ensuring compliance with contracts, and supporting the Program Director in managing the C-Cares team.
+ Directly supervise a team of Case Managers responsible for helping families approved for rental assistance build long-term stability in housing.
+ Onboard and train new Case Managers
+ Conduct weekly supervision meetings with Case Managers to review progress, provide support and direction, resolve challenges, and ensure high quality job performance.
+ Support the professional development of Case Managers with training, professional development planning, and annual performance reviews.
+ Assign new clients, manage caseloads, and strategize with Case Managers around challenging situations.
+ Oversee the schedules of Case Managers, including time in the field and on home visits.
+ Ensure that C-Cares provides appropriate services to clients, including goal planning, stability planning, and exit planning.
+ Ensure Case Managers use trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing and other essential tools in client work.
+ Ensure excellent data quality standards and record keeping. Conduct regular file audits to ensure client files and data stay up to date.
+ Coordinate with the Program Directors and Assistant Program Directors of other programs to ensure coordination between Case Managers other staff.
+ Approve and facilitate Case Manager purchases to ensure clients receive appropriate and financially responsible support.
+ Develop relationships with local community resource organizations and other key stakeholders.
+ Collaborate with the Program Director on staff hiring and training.
+ Function as acting director in the Program Director's absence.
+ Other responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Fluency in Spanish desired, but not required.
+ Required: at least three years of direct experience as a case manager or counselor working with people who have experienced homelessness and/or other significant trauma.
+ Required: valid CA driver's license and ability to be approved as a Zipcar driver.
+ Strong attention to detail.
+ Ability to provide support in a crisis, and to de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
+ Deep commitment to and demonstrated success discussing, integrating, and promoting diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging throughout a complex and dynamic organization.
+ Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
Compensation and Benefits:
+ Salary range: $68,000 - $75,000 depending on experience. Exempt (salaried) role.
+ Paid time off: 4 weeks of vacation your first year, increasing to 5 in your second. Also paid holidays, sick time, family leave.
+ Insurance: health, dental and vision insurance are fully covered by Compass for employees and dependent children. We also provide long term disability and life insurance.
+ Retirement: after one year of work, Compass contributes an amount equal to 5% of your salary into a retirement account; this vests during years 2-6.
