    This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.

     

    This position will play a vital role in shaping passenger rail transportation plans through a continuous, cooperative and comprehensive planning process. The incumbent will ensure planning activities comply with state and federal requirements; manage and coordinate passenger rail projects under general supervisory guidance; provide professional planning and technical expertise to internal partners and external stakeholders on passenger rail concerns; and serve as a passenger rail data and technical resource to other MnDOT staff and local governments for passenger rail issues and opportunities.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Three years of professional transportation planning experience in the areas noted below:

    NOTE: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning, Geography, Urban Studies, Sociology, Political Science substitutes for one year of experience.

     

    + Experience with land use planning;

    + Experience with Geographic Information System (GIS);

    + Experience with data collection, research and analysis sufficient to formulate study design and methodology and determine acceptability and/or reliability of outcomes or conclusions.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience with Minnesota passenger rail and/or freight planning
