    Your Responsibilities

    As a **CI (OFP) Manufacturing Engineer** for **John Deere Kernersville** located in **Kernersville, NC** you will provide Assembly Manufacturing Engineering (ME) support and troubleshooting for current operations in the excavator business. You will engage with our workforce to overcome operational difficulties and work with a cross-functional team to execute continuous improvement projects. You will join a dynamic team and operate in a challenging production environment where valuing others and diversity and inclusion are critical to the success of our team and business. Additionally, you will:

     

    + Develop, implement, and support manufacturing and logistics processes for the assigned area of responsibility.

    + Lineside support

    + Manufacturing tools and fixtures

    + Material storage and replenishment

    + Operational Method Sheets (OMS)

    + Sequence of Events (SOE)

    + Product Delivery Process (PDP)

    + Manufacturing engineers are responsible for the continuous improvement of the operations in their area of responsibility. This includes but is not limited to safety, ergonomics, quality, cost, reduction of throughput times and equipment improvements.

    + Responsible for maintaining factory layouts for the assigned area of responsibility

    + Responsible for maintaining tasks in MPPlanner and SAP for the assigned area of responsibility.

    + Responsible for the creation and maintenance of labor standards

    + Responsible for assisting in the management of Kernersville BSF projects and incentive metrics.

    + Responsible for managing assigned projects and participating in cross-functional teams.

    What Skills You Need

    + Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with salaried and wage personnel in a team environment

    + A self- starter with the ability to execute a variety of tasks

    + Plans, prioritizes, and organizes work effectively, adapting for changing conditions

    + Understanding of manufacturing processes and working in a production environment

    + Experience with engineering tools, systems and databases

    + Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    What Makes You Stand Out

    + Experience with MPPlanner for standards and OMS development

    + Experience with assembly tooling and processes

    + Experience with AutoCAD and Creo View software

    + 3D printing design

    + Experience with Line Balancing

    + Experience in one of more related engineering areas: Industrial, Reliability, Design, Manufacturing or Quality

    + Experience with shop floor documentation, i.e. Sequence of Events (SOE), Labor Standards and Operator Methods Sheets (OMS)

    + Experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools

    Education

    Ideally, candidates will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

    + Bachelors degree in Engineering or applicable experience
