    **Summary** :

     

    UNC Health is seeking an exceptional candidate to join as a Strategy Analyst. This is a unique opportunity for a mission-driven individual to join a dynamic, collaborative, and fast-paced team environment.

     

    The **Strategy Analyst** is an important part of UNC Health’s Strategic Planning team supporting development of the organization’s strategy. This position is responsible for supporting the development of effective plans across different regions, entities, service lines, and industry topics. In this role, the Strategy Analyst will partner with project teams and leadership to develop impactful strategies, develop hypotheses, conduct supporting analyses, and form recommendations that are data-driven, thoughtfully designed, and aligned to organizational goals. The position will also support system-level initiatives and partnership strategies, with opportunities to support both strategic consulting and corporate development engagements. The position will interact with system leaders and providers at all levels of the organization. The Strategy Analyst will report to an Executive Director, Strategic Planning. This team is part of UNC Health’s Strategy & Transformation division, which includes Strategic Planning, the Transformation Office, and Strategic Intelligence. A successful candidate will be highly motivated to take on complex project assignments, collaborative and effective working with teams, analytical, and a strong problem-solver.

     

    Candidates graduating in Spring 2026 may receive an offer contingent upon successful completion of their degree, with an anticipated start date of May 2026.

     

    **Responsibilities** :

    **Collaboration** – Supports planning activities by collaborating with other teammates and project teams to drive successful planning and consulting engagements. Works effectively with leaders within the Strategic Planning team and across the organization. Willingly take on challenges, projects, or initiatives that enable the success of the broader team. Supports multiple projects and ad-hoc requests both independently and on project teams.

    **Strategy Development** – Conducts analyses, develops effective presentations, and provides thoughtful recommendations to support leadership decision-making and identification of top priorities. Goes beyond the obvious insights to uncover the “so what” takeaways that inform strategic decision making. Participates in cross-functional teams to produce business plans for new initiatives and strategic opportunities. Develops supporting materials for client meetings and deliverables.

    **Market Research and Analysis** – Performs detailed analysis, which may include internal or external financial, operational and/or market data, and is able to summarize into key insights for project leaders. Research topics relevant to project work and surfaces key takeaways. Conducts benchmarking analysis of best-practice market leaders. Evaluates emerging market trends and industry developments. Develops recommendations and materials which are presentation-ready for senior executive-level audiences.

    **Strategy Liaison** – Serves as a liaison between the Strategic Planning department and administrative and clinical leaders, representing the resources of the Strategic Planning department. Develops subject matter expertise in one or more valuable areas that will positively benefit our clients across the system, e.g., support for key clinical service lines. Participants in client meetings and is knowledge about subject matter and work deliverables. Effectively manages processes and work assignments on complex, multi-phase consulting engagements.

    • Requires a Bachelor’s degree. Preferred disciplines include healthcare administration, public health, and business administration.

    Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

    • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, relationship building, and communication skills. Ability to function with limited guidance and be comfortable working on projects alone or in cross-functional teams.
