We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assistant to join our team, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. This role involves performing routine quality checks, preparing production lines, and ensuring compliance with GMP practices.
Responsibilities
+ Perform routine quality checks on raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials according to company and regulatory standards.
+ Assist in preparing the production line for shift start-up, including organizing scales, O2/CO2 analyzer, trays, and utensils.
+ Monitor line and equipment cleanliness before the start of the day and after each break, notifying the Line Controller or Production Lead of any issues.
+ Conduct portion control weights, machine adjustments, net weights, MAP checks, scale accuracy, label checks, and quality checks at the line according to standard work.
+ Cooperate with all aspects of the safety program and complete all personal safety and food safety/GMP related training.
+ Report near miss and hazardous conditions to the supervisor or the safety team.
+ Check weights of the meat, ensuring the machine dispenses the correct amount of ham for assemblers, and verify temperatures and packaging integrity.
+ Swab randomly selected areas every two hours for environmental checks and ensure GMP compliance.
Essential Skills
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Proficient in oral and written communication in English.
+ Strong attention to detail and understanding of quality control procedures.
+ Excellent organizational and time management skills.
+ Basic math and computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
+ Ability to operate an iPad.
+ Capability to stand and move around in a cold environment for 95% of the shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Previous quality experience in a fast-paced production environment.
+ Previous food manufacturing experience.
Work Environment
The work environment is primarily on the manufacturing floor, which can be loud when all machines are running. Ear protection is available if needed. The environment is cold, similar to a fridge, and very clean due to food handling. Employees are required to wear GMP-regulated attire, including smocks, gloves, hairnets, and booties, with no exposed skin except for the face. The work involves being on your feet all day, and it offers the opportunity to cross-train on the weekend shift. Employees can enjoy free sandwiches during breaks, with the option to purchase discounted sandwiches to take home.

This is a Contract position based out of Eden Prairie, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.75/hr.
