The Foundry Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining the aluminum casting processes within the customer's permanent mold foundry. This role ensures that all castings meet the highest standards of quality, strength, and dimensional accuracy while supporting cost-effective production and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and optimize aluminum casting processes to ensure high-quality production.
+ Maintain casting processes to ensure they meet standards of quality, strength, and dimensional accuracy.
+ Support cost-effective production and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Involve hands-on with the production floor, supporting operations extensively.
+ Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in process development and continuous improvement.
+ Strong knowledge of metallurgy and aluminum alloys.
+ Ability to work hands-on in a foundry environment.
+ Proficiency in CAD software and process simulation tools such as MAGMASOFT and SolidWorks.
+ Familiarity with CNC machining processes and assembly-ready casting requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
+ 3+ years of experience in aluminum casting or foundry operations, with a preference for permanent mold experience.
+ Solidification modeling experience is a plus.
+ Lean manufacturing knowledge.
+ Strong customer relations skills.
Work Environment
The work environment is dynamic and involves extensive hands-on involvement on the production floor. The role requires mingling well with the team and demonstrating a go-getter attitude. The engineer will use advanced technologies such as CAD software and process simulation tools to enhance production efficiency and quality.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.86 - $50.48/hr.
