Infection Preventionist / Quality Assurance Nurse
Job Description
The Infection Preventionist/Quality Assurance (IP/QA) nurse collaborates with leadership to develop and implement the Infection Prevention and Control and Quality Improvement programs.
Responsibilities
+ Reduce the risk of infection transmission and serve as a leader, educator, and consultant in infection prevention and quality assurance best practices.
+ Monitor and manage quality measures and indicators, plan and evaluate educational and clinical training programs, and develop policies for risk management systems to protect residents, visitors, and employees.
+ Incorporate computer hardware, appropriate software utilization, and critical thinking into daily job functions.
+ Work autonomously and as a team member; demonstrate basic knowledge and advance education, knowledge, and skills; keep current with best practices through evidence-based research, regulations, consensus, and guidelines.
+ Set priorities, manage workload, and meet deadlines; communicate effectively and build partnerships with a wide variety of healthcare workers; effectively lead teams, committees, and workgroups.
+ Work flexible hours, primarily during the day, with occasional evenings, nights, or weekends.
+ Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
Essential Skills
+ Nursing clinical experience in infection prevention and quality assurance.
+ Documentation and patient education skills.
+ Experience in training or teaching others.
+ Ability to work independently.
+ Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and prioritize information.
+ Ability to develop effective working relationships throughout the organization.
+ Demonstrated computer literacy with strong knowledge of software applications.
+ Strong project leadership, organizational, and planning skills.
+ Effective communication in written and oral formats.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Graduate of a baccalaureate Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited nursing program.
+ Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing program with successful experience as a Registered Nurse and at least one year of RN experience in long-term care.
+ MN Registered Nurse license.
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (American Heart Association, Red Cross, or Military Training Network).
+ Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required within 3 years from hire if not previously certified and expected to maintain CIC once achieved.
+ Minimum of three years of clinical experience in healthcare preferred.
+ Experience with infection prevention and quality assurance preferred.
Work Environment
The work environment includes a shift from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional weekend work. The expected start date is 12/15/2025. The role primarily involves working during the day, with some flexibility for evenings, nights, or weekends as needed. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
