We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join our team in Holland, MI. The role involves designing, developing, and implementing custom automated equipment for our diverse clientele. The successful candidate will be responsible for PLC programming, HMI development, and robotic systems implementation. This is a dynamic opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate across various teams to ensure the successful integration of custom solutions.
Responsibilities
+ Design and develop custom automated equipment to meet customer standards and scope.
+ Program PLCs and develop HMI systems.
+ Implement and manage robotic systems, with a focus on Fanuc robots.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead the development of control systems.
+ Work closely with assembly and installation teams to ensure proper equipment integration.
+ Travel to customer sites approximately 25% of the time to oversee installations and provide support.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in robotics programming, specifically with Fanuc robots.
+ 3+ years of experience in PLC programming and editing from scratch.
+ Proficiency in programming HMI systems.
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation Engineering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs).
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
Work Environment
The work environment is primarily office-based when not traveling. The position operates on a 1st shift schedule with overtime, requiring 45-55 hours per week depending on travel requirements. Travel to customer sites is approximately 25% of the time, with all expenses covered.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
