The Idaho Transportation Department is hiring aBridge Inspector Team Leadto join our Bridge Asset Management teamlocated in Headquarters Boise, ID.
ITD is looking to hire for an Engineering Assistant position in the Bridge Asset Management Unit at ITD’s Boise Headquarters. The ideal candidate will have experience performing bridge safety inspections and working with electronic data collection and management systems.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
+ Perform inventory, routine, special, NSTM, and in-depth bridge inspections in accordance with National Bridge Inspection Standards (23 CFR Subpart C), including confined-space work and use of Under Bridge Inspection Trucks
+ Enter inspection data into ITD’s electronic bridge management system
+ Conduct QA/QC reviews of consultant inspection reports
+ Travel frequently, including overnight trips lasting up to a week
+ Attend required training and conferences
+ Provide input on statewide bridge preservation and restoration programs
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
+ Candidate must meet the qualification of a Bridge Inspection Team Leader that are specified in 23 CFR 650.309(b) of the Code of Federal Regulations for the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ Valid driver's license.
Good knowledge of:
+ Computer systems and applications used in engineering, design, construction or roadway maintenance
Experience:
+ Using construction plans, blueprints, drawings, specifications, maps, charts, graphs, manuals, schematics, and/or GIS data
+ Providing direction, training, or assistance to others on engineering, design, construction, roadway maintenance projects, or other applicable work assignments
+ Identifying and organizing materials, tools, or equipment for construction, roadway maintenance, engineering, design projects, or other applicable assignments
MQ Specialties
Some positions require:
+ A Professional Herbicides Applicator's License
Some knowledge of:
+ Bridge design, roadway design, or traffic design
+ Traffic service maintenance experience
+ CDL class A license with air brake, hazardous materials, and/or tanker endorsements
+ Sampler/testing qualification such as WAQTC
Good knowledge of:
+ Personal computer use, including hardware and software applications
Experience:
+ Establishing and identifying roadway and roadside elements, interpreting road maps, and matching points on map with Geographical Information Systems (GIS), to establish location.
