Overview
Join our team as a Sheet Metal Mechanic working on marine vessels. You’ll be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal components such as ventilation systems, bulkheads, lockers, and structural elements. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints, and proficiency with tools and equipment used in metal fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
+ Build, install, and repair sheet metal parts for ships and marine structures
+ Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
+ Operate fabrication tools and equipment including shears, press brakes, and welding gear
+ Perform accurate layout, cutting, bending, and joining of metal components
+ Maintain high standards for quality, precision, and safety
+ Work in confined spaces and physically demanding conditions
+ Coordinate with other trades to ensure timely project completion
Required Skills
+ Hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication and assembly
+ Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
+ Skilled in using hand tools and powered equipment for metal work
+ Strong focus on accuracy and craftsmanship
+ Physical endurance for challenging work environments
Preferred Qualifications
+ Previous experience in shipyard or marine settings
+ Knowledge of HVAC duct installation
+ Familiarity with metal repair and joinery techniques
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $51.85 - $51.85/hr.
