    Description

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking knowledgeable Tax Coaches to support individual taxpayers, focusing on military personnel and their families during the upcoming tax season. You will answer inbound calls, offering expert tax guidance about deductions, credits, allowances, and filing requirements. This role is fully remote and requires strong communication skills and a solid background in tax preparation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Respond to inbound calls from individual taxpayers, primarily military members, to address their tax-related questions and provide guidance

    + Advise callers on topics such as combat zone tax exclusions, state residency, military tax credits/deductions, and overseas filing scenarios

    + Educate taxpayers on available filing options, credits, and allowances (e.g., Roth IRA contributions, combat zone benefits)

    + Provide clear instructions and explanations without simply completing forms for callers

    + Maintain professionalism while swiftly managing caller volume and transitioning between callers

    + Attend initial training and stay current on federal and state tax regulations

    + Ensure strict confidentiality with every caller; calls will not be recorded for privacy

    Requirements

    Required Qualifications:

    + Minimum 2 years of tax preparation experience (working at firms such as H& R Block is strongly valued)

    + Practical understanding of individual tax law, deductions, credits, and allowances

    + Prior experience handling tax-related questions from military personnel (strongly preferred)

    + Professional tax certifications such as Enrolled Agent or CPA are a plus, but not required

    + Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills

    + Ability to pass a background check, 5-panel drug test, and public trust clearance

    + Willingness to complete a 20-question pre-employment tax test

    + Able to provide two professional references

    Schedule:

    + Monday to Friday, and 2 Saturdays per month

    + Shifts available between 4:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time

    + Multiple start dates: December 22nd, January 5th, January 19th

    + End dates: April 15th (with staggered options to mid-May)
