    *Senior Pharmacy Technician - Ambulatory Treatment Center - IV*

    *Ideal candidate* will have High School Diploma and 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience in a retail, infusion or hospital setting. Highly Prefer at least one year of IV sterile preparation experience, ACPE IV Sterile Products Competency

    *Working Hours:* The working hours are 12:30p - 9:00p. Mon - Fri

    *JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES*

    Senior Tech Proficiencies

    1. Inventory Management

    • Reviews and monitors par levels

    • Reconciles inventory counts in appropriate systems

    • Properly manages vial inventory (e.g., lot management access)

    • Orders and receives medications and supplies

    • Tech-Check-Tech certified (per area)

    • Accurately and efficiently completes cycle counts and inventory audits

    • Troubleshoots, reports, and follows up with medication storage devices (e.g., refrigerators)

    • Resolves controlled-access cabinet discrepancy reports

    • Reviews and addresses recall notification requests

    • Monitors and reconciles inventory system reports (e.g., medication outdates)

    2. Area Maintenance

    • Performs equipment maintenance (e.g., balances, printers, computers, scanners)

    • Reviews processes and updates documentation (e.g., SOPs, competencies)

    • Manages CAD pumps and related supplies

    • Oversees Alaris pump preventative maintenance and library updates

    *Requirements:*

    *Education*

     

    Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

     

    Preferred: Certificate from an accredited Pharmacy technician training program.

     

    Preferred: Two years of college credit.

     

    *Work Experience *

     

    Required: 2 years Pharmacy technician experience in a hospital, infusion center or retail pharmacy.

     

    *Licenses and Certification*

     

    Required: PHTR - Reg Pharmacy Technician Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP). Upon Hire

    Preferred: CPHT - Certified Pharmacy Technician Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Upon Hire

    Preferred: Current Intravenous Medication Certification (IV-Sterle Products) approved by the Accreditation Counsel for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). Upon Hire

     

    Other Requirements: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.

     

    This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening. The ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of such infrastructure is a condition of hire and continued employment.
