Job Summary and Qualifications

The Cardiac Services Data and Quality Coordinator works closely with the Director of Cardiovascular Services and Medical Directors of Cardiovascular Services to coordinate and conduct data collection and submission, process and outcome measurement and reporting, and performance improvement activities related to the cardiovascular disease/procedure population. The Cardiac Services Data and Quality Coordinator organizes and facilitates cardiovascular medical staff quality activities, assists with cardiovascular service line initiatives, and functions as communicator and community advocate. This position also helps to ensure the consistent utilization of evidenced based best practices and manages the national cardiac database registries in partnership with Parallon

What you will do in this role:

+ Demonstrates the ability to perform specific competencies as listed on the competency validation checklist(s) and ensures staff maintain competency in the required skills

+ Demonstrates age specific knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment and care of patients.

+ Ensures the privacy of our patients and confidentiality of their Protected Health Information (PHI).

+ Utilizes nursing process for individual care to meet needs of patients.

+ Demonstrates and teaches the performance of technical skills and procedures.

+ Demonstrates and teaches critical thinking skills.

+ Demonstrates and teaches customer service initiatives.

+ Promotes and exhibits teamwork.

+ Ensures compliance with hospital policies/procedures and patient and staff safety initiatives.

+ Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing the EMR for data entry and abstraction for analytics

+ Demonstrates proficiency in Cardiovascular Information Systems

+ Ensures accurate and timely abstraction and submission of National Registry Data

+ Performs other duties as assigned

What qualifications you will need:

+ Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing

+ BSN or MSN preferred

+ 5 years experience in cardiovascular patient care in an acute care setting

+ Previous supervision and or clinical leadership experience

+ Current TN RN licensure OR Compact State License ( _with 90 day grace period to obtain TN license_ )

+ American Heart Association BLS, ACLS

Parkridge Medical Center is a 270+ bed hospital. We are near downtown Chattanooga. We feature comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These services include cardiovascular surgery and cancer treatment. These services include intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilitation. The facility includes a state of the art neurosurgery program. Patients also have access to OB-GYN services. Patients have access to a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. They also have access to (NICU) and behavioral health treatment centers for children and adults.
