Position Summary
Must be located in either AZ, HI, TX, IL, FL, or PA and have an active pharmacist license in that state.
The role of the Clinical Pharmacist in the Pharmacy Advisor team, a specially developed, clinical program for CVS Caremark, is to provide support and consultation to targeted members regarding the disease state(s) supported by the program. Through the use of sophisticated modeling and systems, we are able to identify members who meet the desired counseling opportunity criteria. Outbound calls are made (with return inbound calls likely) directly to patients. The focus of the discussion is to provide education on new therapies, partner with the patient to solve for non-adherence issues, as well as work with the patient and the prescriber to assess the need for supplemental medications based on the unique needs of the patient and their disease state. In addition to working directly with the patient, the Pharmacy Advisor Clinical Pharmacist works very closely with the patient's prescriber, other Pharmacy Advisor staff, as well as other CVS Caremark departments, to address patient issues. Pharmacists in the Pharmacy Advisor program will complete an internal, disease-specific training program including learning the innovative skill of behavioral modification and interviewing. The Pharmacists will utilize these skill sets as key drivers to positively impact patient health outcomes. The Pharmacy Advisor Clinical Pharmacist will have the ability to work in a highly charged, fast paced call center as well as participate in the further development and refinement of work systems, tools, processes and procedures.
This is a remote role open to qualified candidates residing in AZ, HI, TX, IL, FL, or PA and holding active, unrestricted pharmacist licensure within their state of residence.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years in Retail, LTC, Hospital or PBM pharmacy experience, or other pharmacist-to-patient consultation experience
- Experience working with patients with chronic disease states, especially diabetes.
- Experience working as a pharmacist in a call center or other remote environment
- Adequate home internet required. High Speed Internet preferred. Required minimum speeds of 50 mb/sec download and 5 mb/sec upload. INCLUDE SCREENSHOT AT TOP OF RESUME PLEASE.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pharmacy knowledge, drug utilization review, excellent consultation skills with patients, strong customer service skills.
- PC literate, solid writing skills, knowledge of pharmacy laws, and accurate clinical information.
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to learn new operating systems and new communication strategies.
- Must be flexible, organized and have a passion for working directly with patients
Education
BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D.
Must be located in either AZ, HI, TX, IL, FL, or PA and hold an active, unrestricted pharmacist license in that state.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$45.43 - $101.54
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
