Director, OCIDO Software Engineering will play a pivotal role in advising and managing the department's tools and technologies including financial planning tools, project management tools, data integrations, dashboarding, and analytics. This role will support the Office of the CIDO in executing its mission of providing advisory services across the full DigiTech organization. The Director, OCIDO Software Engineering is an experienced leader responsible for delivering
transformational OCIDO capabilities to customers. They will be accountable for engaging with leaders in the OCIDO organization to define the strategy for and manage the delivery of quality software.
This leader is responsible for managing a team of experienced Software Engineers while establishing and improving our delivery methodology and technical standards. They will actively partner with Product Delivery Leads and Product Teams to create, prioritize, and deliver product and technical roadmaps. The right candidate will be able to seamlessly navigate between deep technical solutioning, strategic product planning, and mentoring direct reports. They will bring this diverse set of skills together to consistently deliver quality software that is innovative and supportable.
Flexible Work Policy: The work for the Director OCIDO position is completely remote anywhere in the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories.
RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Lead an organization of centralized analytical function for the Strategy & Architecture department in the selection, implementation, and management of tools and technologies.
+ Provide expert advice on financial planning tools, strategy management tools, architecture management tools, project management tools, data integrations, dashboarding, and analytics.
+ Collaborate with the IT Portfolio Governance and Advisory team to ensure alignment with portfolio requirements, goals, and objectives.
+ Partner with other department leaders to provide comprehensive near and long-term support models for all applications in the portfolio.
+ Identify and evaluate new emerging technologies and concepts that enrich and elevate US Foods digital capabilities.
+ Prototype and productization of new concepts/ideas in an agile way.
+ Coach product delivery teams to ensure standards are followed, advise on technical approach, and remove impediments.
+ Grow our product-oriented delivery model and ensure a consistent agile delivery approach.
+ Lead a team of highly talented software engineers
+ Hire, train, and oversee performance goals and provide coaching and mentoring to aspiring engineering leaders
+ Develop and maintain a comprehensive strategy and roadmap for the department's technology stack.
+ Oversee the integration of new tools and technologies into existing systems.
+ Ensure the effective use of data and analytics to drive decision-making and improve DigiTech delivery.
+ Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors and internal teams.
+ Other duties as assigned by manager
**SUPERVISION** :
+ 3-6 direct reports and contractor firms
RELATIONSHIPS
+ **Internal:** Interact with IT Program Teams, Directors, Sr Directors, VPs, and SVPs (e.g., Marketing, Customer Strategy, Category Management).
+ **External:** Interact with vendors
WORK ENVIRONMENT
+ **Remote** : This role is fully remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a home-based environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ Minimum 8 years IT experience, including 4 years managing software engineering teams.
+ Experience leading large-scale agile software projects and owning a product throughout its lifecycle.
+ Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
+ Experience with hiring, attracting, motivating, coaching, retaining, and developing engineers and their leaders.
+ Experience partnering with software, services, and talent vendors.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in IT, finance, business administration, or in another relevant field.

+ Previous software engineering, IT consulting or client engagement experience
+ Experience delivering in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between
$110,000 - $180,000
