Position Summary
The Distribution Center Manager reports to the Regional Operations Manager and is responsible for the planning, organizing, and controlling of the distribution center’s overall operations. The Distribution Center Manager organizes activities and assigns jobs accordingly to the staff. The Distribution Center Manager is also responsible for the management of stock control, receipt, storage, and retrieval of product, ensuring timely and accurate shipment to IPS customers. In addition, the Distribution Center Manager is responsible for shipment loading, unloading, and transferring of product to include documentation and record keeping.
Responsibilities
+ Maintaining inventory by conducting physical counts, reconciling variances, and inputting data
+ Organizing and training staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress
+ Motivating, organizing, and encouraging teamwork, ensuring productivity targets are met or exceeded
+ Producing regular reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis as needed
+ Communicates daily with the staff as needed and conducts a once-weekly meeting with all distribution center associates
+ Oversees the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment
+ Plan out all distribution center resources and activities in keeping with the company’s objectives and targets
+ Ensure the health and safety requirements are met, and is responsible for the security of the building and stock
+ Conduct daily audits of orders pulled and stock received
+ Communicate with the IPS truck drivers and track company trucks to ensure timely, efficient use and routing
+ Coordination and communication between the distribution center and the sales office, including customer service, to ensure efficient and timely deliveries to IPS customers
+ Responsible for the maintenance and proper functioning of forklifts
+ Responsible for conducting on-site 3PL inventories
+ 5% travel domestic travel required
+ Perform any additional duties assigned in keeping with IPS policies and procedures, while helping to ensure customer satisfaction
+ Other duties as assigned by the Regional Operations Manager.
Skills and Experience
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ At least 5 years of Distribution Center management experience
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
+ Bachelor’s degree preferred
+ Ability to multitask and work under pressure
+ Ability to meet deadlines
+ Attention to detail
+ Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
