Summary:

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with expertise in solar interconnection plans and electrical design for renewable energy projects. This role will focus on energy design projects within our Engineering Unit, including battery storage systems.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

+ Design & Documentation

+ Prepare electrical design documents: single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, technical specifications, load calculations, and interconnection drawings.

+ Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, and utility interconnection standards.

+ Develop electrical plans for solar PV and battery storage systems, including inverter and transformer sizing.

+ Interconnection & Compliance

+ Prepare and submit interconnection applications to utilities.

+ Coordinate with utility engineers to address technical requirements and timelines.

+ Support preparation of Site Plan and variance applications, and assist with permitting documentation.

+ Project Support

+ Perform bid reviews and assist with proposal preparation.

+ Communicate project status and technical issues with clients and stakeholders.

+ Collaborate with civil engineers, hydrogeologists, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational

+ Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering

Skills

+ Familiarity with interconnection plans for Solar Projects

+ Strong knowledge of utility interconnection processes, NEC, and relevant codes.

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical modeling tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM).

Experience

+ 5+ years of experience in electrical design for solar PV and/or battery storage projects.
