NDT Inspector Level III
Experienced NDT Technician skilled in performing non-destructive testing on a variety of sheet metal aircraft components to ensure quality and structural integrity. Proficient in applying industry-standard inspection methods and interpreting results to support manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
+ Interpret and follow written instructions, sketches, schedules, drawings and documents.
+ Process complex parts and interpret findings in accordance with Parker and customer specifications and requirements.
+ Check required dimensions using calipers, micrometers and other inspection devices and accurately document inspection findings.
+ Follow established NDT technique sheets and ensures any revisions to established techniques meet Parker and customer requirements.
+ Responsible for creating, evaluating and approving technique sheets used in the FPI, Radiographic and Digital X-Ray Inspection process.
+ Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of NDT methods and techniques and propose solutions to problems which impact productivity.
+ Responsible for auditing and verify performance adequacy of personnel performing NDT Tech functions.
+ Conduct audits of NDT procedures, and process and interface with customers to provide the necessary objective evidence to substantiate approval to requirements.
+ Ability to program all Digital X-Ray systems.
+ Be responsible for day-to-day functions of NDT operations. May oversee others.
+ Collaborate with other Level 3s within both GTFSD and Parker Aerospace.
+ Other duties as assigned by the site Responsible Level 3.
Qualifications:
+ Certified Level 2 in FPI, Radiographic and Digital X-Ray Inspection. Have general knowledge of other NDT methods.
+ Able to read and understand manufacturing planning, engineering blueprints and sketches. Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
+ Possess adequate knowledge of Parker manufacturing and NDT processes to be able to anticipate problems in order to implement effective and productive inspection techniques.
+ Ability to effectively interface and provide feedback to Quality Engineering, Design Engineering, and Manufacturing personnel.
+ General knowledge of welding and forming processes.
+ Conduct informal on the job and formal classroom training, administer test examinations and maintain certifications of personnel
Working conditions:
+ Demonstrate proper and safe operation of equipment, and personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses/full face shield, hearing protection, respirator, and rubber gloves as required.
Physical Requirements:
+ Performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing and handling of material.
