At the Atterbury Job Corps Center, we work with youth ages 16-24 and provide them residential services, and academic and career training, all at no cost to the student. We are a federally funded program administered by the Department of Labor. We are a year-round, self-paced program for our students. RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises maintenance staff in the absence of the Facility Manager/Supervisor. May provide supervision and training to Job Corps’ Work-Based Learning students assigned to the department.
o Performs repair and preventive maintenance to the facility, grounds and systems.o Inspects the work of other maintenance personnel.o Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching.o Researches and recommends purchase of replacement equipment as needed.o May be asked to oversee the training activities of students assigned to the maintenance area.o May be asked to oversee the activities and quality of performance of outside contractors performing repairs and/or replacement of equipment.o Conducts periodic inspections of building systems and equipment to ensure working quality.o May coordinate activities with the CTT program, if applicable.o Conducts inspections and maintains code and safety requirements.o Provides supervision and training to Job Corps’ Work-Based Learning, leisure time student workers assigned to the Maintenance Department and CTST students.o Produces quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.o Maintains appropriate personal attendance, accountability and work productivity standards.o Plans, prioritizes and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.o Understands and applies job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities. Proactively maintains the skills required to perform job duties.o Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountable for their actions and behavior.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 5 years’ experience in building maintenance required with knowledge of local building codes, carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems, boilers and other building systems. Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred. Must possess a valid in-State Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
