Chemistry Analyst
Job Description
The Chemistry Analyst will work within a pet food laboratory to conduct thorough analyses on raw materials and finished products. The role involves using advanced chromatography and liquid chromatography testing to evaluate the shelf life, nutritional value, and stability of food products.
Responsibilities
+ Provide technical knowledge and expertise in specialized analytical instrumentation to support nutritional testing and product analysis.
+ Conduct analyses using instrumentation such as ICP, ICP MS, Leco Protein Analyzers, Fat Extractors, Auto Titrators, TGA, HPLC, GC, and Wet Chemistry tests.
+ Assist scientists and engineers in a lab environment by collecting samples and performing biological or chemical analyses.
+ Plan, design, and conduct laboratory experiments to test chemical specifications of substances.
+ Estimate resources and time required for experiments and monitor performance to meet targets.
+ Collect, prepare, and test samples, recording observations.
+ Prepare detailed reports with recommendations, applications, and conclusions.
+ Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on laboratory equipment.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with HPLC, GC, ICP instrumentation.
+ Knowledge of chromatography, chemistry, and food science.
+ Ability to conduct quality assurance testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with LCMSMS, ICP-OES, GC-FID is advantageous.
+ Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, natural sciences, or food sciences with emphasis in Analytical Chemistry preferred.
+ Experience in analytical chemistry is preferred.
Work Environment
Work in a laboratory setting with a typical shift from Tuesday to Saturday, 8am-4:30pm. The position offers a great opportunity for entry-level candidates to gain experience in a large lab setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Thompson's Station, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $27.50/hr.
