Job Title: Technology Designer

Job Description

In this role, you will utilize your previous experience to translate system design concepts into detailed layouts by interpreting the basis of design information as well as insights gathered from users, other consultants, field surveys, and code research.

Responsibilities

+ Convert system design concepts into specific layouts using Revit.

+ Design Information Communication Technology (ICT) systems including horizontal cabling, copper backbone, fiber backbone, wireless access points, physical security systems, and audio-visual components.

+ Develop construction documents and participate in the technology engineering process.

+ Lead and design ICT projects, managing budgets, capabilities, and options.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in Revit for designing ICT systems.

+ 5-10 years of experience in designing ICT systems within a built environment, building technology, or electrical consulting firm.

+ Experience in leading ICT projects and understanding ICT systems infrastructure.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ RCDD certification is beneficial and support is provided for candidates pursuing it.

+ Experience with construction documentation and technology engineering.

Work Environment

This role is within a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm with a collaborative community of over 800 employees. The company has been recognized as a top engineering and science and technology firm. The position is tied to the Chicago office, with approximately 50 employees, but offers flexibility to work from other offices such as Denver, Madison, Overland Park, Houston, and Austin. The work environment is hybrid, allowing for 2-3 days of work from home, with some remote work possible initially. The firm supports sustainable design practices and offers opportunities to work on high-profile projects.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $72.12/hr.
