Job Title: Medical Lab Technician

Job Description

This role involves following laboratory policies and procedures to perform both high and moderate complexity testing. The technician will handle pre-analytical and post-analytical laboratory support functions, maintaining clear communication with team members to optimize laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

+ Accurately and efficiently perform pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes for laboratory testing.

+ Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions.

+ Perform and evaluate all required quality control assessments as described in departmental policies and procedures prior to reporting patient results.

+ Evaluate results of laboratory tests according to laboratory protocols to ensure quality patient care.

+ Document all laboratory activities according to policies and procedures.

+ Maintain and demonstrate competency assessment in assigned area.

Essential Skills

+ ASCP certification or equivalent.

+ Experience in medical and clinical laboratory settings.

+ Proficiency in urinalysis and microbiology.

+ Familiarity with equipment such as Beckman Coulter.

+ Knowledge of chemistry, biology, and medical technology.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Associate’s Degree in clinical laboratory science, biological, or chemical science.

+ Certification by ASCP or equivalent.

Work Environment

The position is based in a pathology laboratory environment located at Cleveland. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. This role requires onsite presence.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Cleveland, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $25.25/hr.
