    Summary:

    IDOC is recruiting for a Project Manager 3 position at our Central Office in Boise, Idaho. As a Project Manager 3 you will take a proactive role in directly managing the team responsible for carrying out the agency’s highest priority strategic initiatives and guiding the agency’s correctional evidence-based practices (EBP). The incumbent will focus on meeting project commitments, by appropriately staffing and monitoring progress and outcomes, integrating EBP into new initiatives and existing approaches, and serving as a primary point of contact to agency leadership.

    Responsibilities :

    + Provide direct supervision to and direct the work of the Strategic Initiatives team and collaborators to accomplish agency specific strategic initiatives across the entire state of Idaho.

    + Provide expert-level project management to include planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of projects in the beginning, mature, and completed state.

    + Present to IDOC leadership and external stakeholders on status of projects and initiatives, changes needed, stakeholder interests, and cross-team coordination to accomplish goals/tasks.

    + Manage budget to keep costs low and maintain good governance of state projects. Make recommendations for changes to work within funds available for the initiative.

    + Serve as IDOC’s expert in EBP to include assessing current evidence-based practices and developing strategies to increase EBP awareness, utilization, and adoption across the agency.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Experience managing staff. This is typically gained through at least two years of experience where responsible for interviewing and selecting staff, providing work direction and training, evaluating performance, and generating employer problem solving solutions.

    + Experience managing major projects including development of project scope, goals, work plans, timelines, and implementation strategies. Typically, this is met by approximately two years of experience managing projects with at least one year in a leadership role.

    + Experience developing measurement processes/methods for assessing progress toward goals and project outcomes. Typically, this is met by approximately three years of experience managing projects with at least two years in a leadership role. Program planning and implementation may also be considered as qualifying.

    + Preparing and presenting oral presentations to groups. Typically, this requires approximately two years of experience where you were required to prepare and make oral presentations either in a work, volunteer or college-level setting. Topics may be informational, persuasive or technical.

    + Developing and monitoring contracts. Typically, this is met by at least one year of professional experience developing contract conditions and monitoring them for compliance. This would involve working with people to develop contracts that spelled out specific goals and objectives and evaluating activities for compliance.

    Desirable Qualifications:

    + Proficiency in change management. It is desired that the incumbent has experience preparing individuals for new systems, processes, and programs.

    + Strong knowledge of correctional EBP and experience guiding EBP implementation across large organizations.
