Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Rockford, Illinois. This is a contract-to-permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations while advancing your career. The ideal candidate will excel in maintaining accurate records, supporting month-end close processes, and handling corporate tax-related tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Support month-end closing activities, including reconciliations and adjustments.

• Manage corporate and sales tax processes, ensuring compliance with regulations.

• Assist in preparing corporate tax returns and related documentation.

• Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect accurate financial data.

• Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for efficient financial analysis and reporting.

• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting procedures.

• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.

• Provide support during audits or financial reviews as needed. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate and sales tax management.

• Strong proficiency in preparing corporate tax returns.

• Solid understanding of journal entries and general ledger maintenance.

• Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for accounting tasks.

• Knowledge of month-end closing processes and reconciliations.

• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.
