    Our client in Reston, Virginia is seeking a part-time Seasonal Tax Support Specialist to assist their team throughout busy season. This role is ideal for someone who has experience preparing individual or small business tax returns and enjoys supporting a tax department with data entry, document review, and organizational tasks. This is a great opportunity for someone seeking part-time work while contributing to a high-volume tax environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist with preparing basic individual and business tax returns under supervision

    • Enter tax data and supporting information into internal systems

    • Review W-2s, 1099s, and other tax documents for completeness and accuracy

    • Help maintain organized client files and workpapers

    • Support senior tax staff with simple schedules and reconciliations

    • Assist with department deadlines, extensions, and general administrative tasks

    Requirements

    The Right Fit May Have:

    • Prior experience preparing individual or business tax returns (1040, 1120, 1065, etc.)

    • Exposure to CPA firms, tax offices, or similar tax-preparation environments

    • Familiarity with tax software and strong Microsoft Excel skills

    • High attention to detail and accuracy when entering financial data

    • Excellent organizational habits and consistent follow-through

    • Comfort handling confidential client information

    • A reliable, steady work style suited for deadline-driven busy season workloads
