Description We are looking for a motivated Tax Staff Accountant to join our team in Allegan, Michigan. In this role, you will provide essential support to the tax department of our public accounting firm while gaining hands-on experience with a variety of tax-related tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with 0–3 years of experience eager to develop their expertise in a collaborative, detail-focused setting.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other organizational entities.

• Assist in calculating and analyzing income tax provisions for businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Conduct basic tax research on regulations and issues, sharing findings with senior team members.

• Respond to client requests for documents, data, and analysis in a timely and thorough manner.

• Ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations by maintaining up-to-date knowledge.

• Support client meetings by delivering courteous service and resolving routine inquiries.

• Organize and maintain accurate workpapers and electronic files.

• Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance technical and industry-specific skills. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

• 0–3 years of relevant tax experience, ideally in public accounting or a similar environment.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with clients and team members.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with tax software is advantageous.

• Collaborative approach with a willingness to learn and contribute to team goals.

• Knowledge of individual and corporate tax return preparation is beneficial.

• Experience with CCH ProSystem Fx or similar tax preparation software is preferred.
